"Now I Get It"

We observe children as they learn their world and it's exciting to see, but we keep learning throughout life and it's good to see adults learn, too. In a teaching-learning situation, a teacher loves to hear the student say, "Now I get it!" In our spiritual lives it is important that we keep learning and what a thrill it is when we hear someone say in response to biblical truth, "Now I get it!" After a brief Bible study on how salvation by the grace of God is offered to those who by believing, trusting, and having obedient faith will accept God's gift, the student said, "I see that," and was baptized. What a thrill!
But, tell me, are you getting it? Are we seeing that the church is the redeemed people of God, purchased by the blood of Christ, and is not a "take it or leave it" proposition! Are we seeing that our personal involvement in the work and worship of the local church is so very important to the function and success of the body of Christ? Are we seeing that no one can serve and worship and give for us, but that we are individually accountable to God for what we do? Are we seeing the importance of the preaching and teaching of God's Word in order for us to grow to maturity in Christ? Are we seeing the need to examine ourselves to see if we
"are in the faith" (2 Cor. 13:5)? And what about our contribution, do we see the need for growing in the grace of giving
(2 Cor. 8:7)? So, how long have you been a Christian? How are you developing in your spiritual life? Not much progress can be made until we begin to act upon the knowledge of what we should do and say, "Now I get it".
