A Big Man

by Rick Laing

Zaccheus was a big man because he wanted to see Jesus, and pursued Him (Luke 19:4).

Zaccheus was a big man because he climbed a tree to get a better view of the Lord (Luke 19:4).

Zaccheus was a big man because he responded immediately and gladly to Jesus' request to come to the home of Zaccheus (Luke 19:5-6).

Zaccheus was a big man because he owned his sins (Luke 19:7).

Zaccheus was a big man because he repented of his sins (Luke 19:8).

Zaccheus was a big man because he tried to put right, his wrongs (Luke 19:8).

Zaccheus may have been small of stature, and loathed by his fellow citizens because he was a rich tax collector, but on the day he met Jesus, he became a big man. That day, salvation came to his house. Praise God. And we pray God that salvation will come to your house. Try to imitate in principle what Zaccheus did. Seek the Lord and bring Him into your house. Let God increase your spiritual stature.
